Stolen

She had never been a rebellious teenager.
"What happened? What changed?" asked her Maths teacher, sitting across the table from Claudia's mother that parents' evening.
"I'm not s...sure," stammered her mother.
"She's just not ever going to reach her potential if she carries on this way," explained Mrs Temlar.
Mrs Temlar had only met Claudia's mother once before and, as she recalled, she seemed to be a confident and charming lady. That evening, however, she looked very anxious and stammered her way through the entire conversation.
"I don't think she managed one fluent sentence," Mrs Temlar later told the principal.
